PERIOD - The Greatest Opportunity Of The Year

So You Think You Making An App Is Hard????

I've spent all January in the USA.

I do this every year because as much as I love seeing what's
happening online -It's way more important to see what Joe and Jane
Smith are doing - If all we are reading are digerati and Internet
Marketing Guru types - we get a pretty distorted view of whats
going on.

One of the biggest things I noticed.

APPS

Apps for the iPhone, Apps for Android. Shopping Malls had their own
Apps, coffee shops had their own apps. Think of a use and as Apple
would say...

There's an App for that!

10 BILLION apps have been downloaded for the iPhone and iPod Touch
alone.

When you consider apps did not even exist until July 2008!!!!!!!!!

It's astonishing.

Apple sold 14.8 million iPads in NINE months - That smashes every
consumer electronic sales record EVER in history - It kills the TV,
DVD adoption, the CD player, The Microwave.

And before you thing this is Ed going on an Apple rant - Googles
Android is going to be a massive player (i think its going to be
particularly effective in the iPad market)

Don't get in an Apple/Android jihad here - you'll feel righteous,
but you'll be broke and ruing the biggest opportunity information
marketers have ever seen.

And its so early days...

----------------------------------------------
THE HUUUUUUGGGGGE PROBLEM
--------------------------------------------

"I could never do an App, I can barely use a computer, yet alone
design and write code for an App"

Awesome news for you!

Knowing how to code (or design a great interface) is a

MASSIVE DISADVANTAGE

I've been working with people for the last twelve months coaching
them on creating apps.

The most important skill to have - the ability to use pen and paper.

Thats it.

I was going to do a course about this - but Trey Smith, a great
marketer in his own right has produced a course.

BUT I DONT WANT YOU TO BUY IT!!!!!

Not yet!

Watch this awesome video, so you can see for yourself just how
simple this process is, and if you do decide to buy this down the
track - i'll coach you personally creating your own app.

https://infomillion.infusionsoft.com/go/soft1/edale/

I don't like to boast but bluntly no Internet Marketer comes close
to my knowledge and experience in Apps and App Marketing. Treys
course will show you how to do it - and then i'll coach you through
it.

But let's not get ahead of ourselves - Please even if you think you
have ZERO interest in Apps (and that would be the greatest mistake
of your marketing career) watch the video.

If you are convinced there is no way you could design and create an
App - YOU MUST WATCH THE VIDEO. My most successful students have
had ZERO coding and design knowledge.

If you think getting an App created will be super exspensive - YOU
MUST WATCH THIS VIDEO!!!! Getting Apps done can be super cheap - if
you know what you're doing...

https://infomillion.infusionsoft.com/go/soft1/edale/

App's are going to be huge - scratch that - they are huge - you
need to incorporate it into your marketing mix.

Seriously, watch this video...

Fear And Loathing In La Jolla

Fear and Loathing In La Jolla

It’s 11.43 on the first day of 2011.

The shocker of a day where New Years resolutions, goals and major decisions are made and often stuffed up before they start.

Let me throw something out.

Make 2011 the year you make the switch from Consumption to Creation.

Man, I’m in love with the phrase.

It’s a deviation of something I saw Darren Rowse (Problogger) tweet on New Years eve.

It’s perfect.

Simple Terrifying Crucial

So in effort not to be a super hypocrite on day 1 of the year here I am squeezing in some creation before we hit day 2 of the new decade. (I’m not sure if that’s today or last year but I’ll leave that to wikiwonks to debate)

Notice I’m saying consumption to creation.

I’m not saying don’t consume – without fuel for your brain, you’re not going anywhere. I’m not saying, stop watching television. Who am I to deny you the real housewives of Atlanta!

No I’m saying, add creation into the mix. Do some creation, every day if you can.

Here’s the exciting thing – it’s amazing how little you need to do to create a massive difference….

The Four Hour Body and Internet Marketing.

  1. Awesome book
  2. I’m Undertaking this process
  3. The Chapter on what people need to do to change is GOLD
  4. OUTSTANDING book launch – one that will be studied for years to come
  5. Buy the actual book (I’m totally digital and I even listened to this on audio – but the physical book is BEAUTIFULLY laid out – This one is going straight onto the Hall of fame bookshelf in my office.

That’s not why I bring it up now.

It’s to do with MED.

Minimum Effective Dose…

I’m not going into MED here – but I KNOW MED for you to become a market leader in your niche in 2011 is way less than you imagine.

Remember – Market Leadership = Content * Consistency

I’m aiming for 30 minutes a day of creation every working day this year. (editing this thirty days later – i’ve missed days, but every day is a chance to start the streak again)

I’m willing to bet the MED for market leadership could be as little as ten minutes a day of focused creation – think the free writing exercises we did in the challenge this year.

Tim in the 4 hour body talks about an experiment where subjects had to take a photo of every thing they ate during the day. That’s it – nothing more.

The result was pretty amazing – people are more than three times more likely to lose weight when they take a photo of what they eat.

Now there’s a whole book in “What get’s measured gets managed”

The point is, the simple act of taking a picture of everything you eat and drink creates a change.

(In quantum physics we know the mere act of observation changes the state of the observed object)

I started this process today and almost forgot just to take a photo – (Note to self – LAY OFF THE COFFEE)

For change to stick it needs to be simple. So even if your content creation is taking a photo of something interesting to your market and posting it to your facebook page – you’re on the way.

Don’t go overboard, keep it simple, start super small and get your creation streak going.

Put simply, if you don’t create, don’t publish, Don’t ship –you’re stuffed.

The awesome news is it’s never been easier to create and ship

It’s now gone midnight, more creating tomorrow.

Ed

PS: But before I go to bed – one crucial thing – Creating must involve publishing, real artists ship. Being creative is a verb, it requires you doing something and DELIVERING it to your market. Sitting there and having mighty thoughts and massive mindmaps and Hemmingway worthy journals mean Jack if nobody ever sees any of it!!!!

PPS: Google just announced a major algorithm change which will boost original content at the expense of copiers, paraphrasers and retweeters.

along the way such as Global Runner Up In JCI's Creative

Finalist in Ernst + Youngs Entrepreneur of the Year Awards.

After being part of the Challenge + Challenge Plus faculty
for over 3 years, Pete has FINALLY put together a course
exclusively for our community.

'Going Analogue' is just that, a secret the pros have been
using for years ...

See Pete first shared this process with some of the worlds
leading online marketers at our exclusive Beechworth event
back in 2008 and the field reports I've received over the
past few years are nothing short of astonishing ...

So I invited Pete to speak at EVERY Coming Home event
we had last year, and his presentation was always an eye
opening crowd favourite.

If you're wanting to take your business to the next level
in 2011, you really want to invest your time and money into
this amazing course; that takes his original presentation
to a whole new level

Ed.

P.S. If you've been around the Challenge community for a
while, you know the quality of teaching Pete is known for...
and given this is Pete's first course he's raised the bar
even higher.

P.P.S. This isn't a typical IM launch or anything, but do
keep an eye out for the two gems Pete lets out during the
overview video here http://www.GoingAnalogue.com/ed
